Thank you for your perseverance on this important issue. Considering that an estimated 60 million Americans who suffer severe and chronic pain, while the estimate of Americans who have tried heroin in their lifetimes is about 660,000 and the number who used in the past year (not even people who habitually use) is estimated to be 140,000, and that pain is the Number One Reason for visits to doctors and emergency rooms, treating patients who report pain with suspicion is unjust and disproportionate. Prosecuting or removing the ability to prescribe from doctors who haven’t broken any laws, just because they prescribe more opioids than other doctors in the area is another injustice.

None of these oppressive actions against doctors and patients has done anything to curb illicit drug use or trade.
